Hello! I am so excited to be here for my first official post on the Treetopia blog! If you don’t know, my name is Kara, and I am the creative behind A Kailo Chic Life. I am so excited to share a few of my favorite trees decorated for all the holidays in the next few months. But first, let’s talk all things Halloween! While I love the traditional orange and black of Halloween decorations, the last few years I have started to incorporate more colors into my Halloween decorations. This year I went all out with all the colors but kept the theme of Halloween pumpkins, bats, ghosts, and spiders.

Teal Pumpkin Wreath Hero Banner

Let’s talk teal pumpkins. Unless you have been living under a Halloween rock, you have probably seen teal pumpkins at the store. Most stores that carry pumpkins have them. Do you know what they are for? Teal pumpkins let kids with food allergies and their parents know that this house has something safe for them. This practice all started with the Teal Pumpkin Project by F.A.R.E. It is a great movement and something near and dear to my heart as the mom of a kid with severe food allergies. Every year not only do I have a teal pumpkin on my doorstep with plenty of safe treats I also go that extra teal pumpkin decorating mile – because of course, I do.

This Halloween I have not one, but two candy corn trees! The original OG candy corn tree and one I made myself using my Treetopia orange, yellow, and hot pink trees! Yup, you can make your own candy corn Halloween tree using parts from 3 different colorful Christmas trees.

The idea for this Halloween ornament came to me because of a common mom dilemma—my kids kept leaving the lids off of their Play-Doh, which meant lot’s of empty containers to throw out. Then I thought: “Hey, those would make adorable little Halloween ornament dioramas”! So I dug them all out of the trash and busted out the glitter! So easy, fun and customizable!
