You know what gets the Christmas spirit going? A beautiful Christmas tree that inspires you to make yours just as gorgeous, if not better! So, pull out all the stops and decorate for the season in a way that only you can.
Here’s the first of a 2-part series of original Christmas decorating ideas from 10 design mavericks. Read on and watch a video by our brand ambassador Jennifer Perkins introducing this year’s Design Council.
The More the Merrier
Jennifer Perkins went all out this year and literally decorated a forest of garlands and pink Christmas trees in different sizes. The star of her Christmas show is our Candy Cane tree, which she adorned with DIY putz houses (in neon pink, no less) and vintage Santas galore.
There’s room for all your creative ideas. Decorate as many trees, wreaths, and garlands as you please. This is also a great way to use any extra ornaments you have in storage.
A Christmas of Memories
Ashley Glass decorated our Alexander Fir Christmas tree with her family’s well-loved ornaments, and the kids got to hang their favorites. Sharing your childhood Christmas memories with your kids helps give them lovely ones of their own.
For nostalgic tree or wreath décor, you can repurpose old keepsakes like baby booties, DIY ornaments that you or your kids made, and anything ornament-sized that are close to your heart.
All Things Sweet & Bright
Candy canes inspired this gorgeous decorating theme of Abbey of The Cards We Drew. She decked out our Whisper White Cashmere tree with our stained glass ornaments, red and white striped ribbon, berries and poinsettias, all topped with a big bow.
Traditional Christmas stockings and that huge candy cane are winners. The clincher? Check out those elf feet sticking out of the tree. Decorating with classic humorous elements makes your Christmas twice as fun.
Every Little Girl’s Dream
Meredith of Cake & Confetti dolled up our Pretty in Pink tree with sweets that look good enough to eat, pastel and disco ball ornaments, and adorable baby unicorns. She extended this theme all throughout her home with a pink garland on her front door, a plate of Snickerdoodles for Santa, and a cute stuffed gnome that her little girl adores.
Most little girls love pink. If you have daughters, decorate for Christmas with all the things that their dreams are made of.
Classic Christmas Elegance
Paola of Nicole Sometimes and her mom dressed up a green Christmas tree in gold and red elegance. This color scheme reminds you of pine trees, mistletoe, clear winter starlight, and even Rudolph’s nose.
Take a page off their decorating theme and use plaid ribbon and vintage-inspired decorations. You can also decorate other areas of your house to match. Paola does this with our beautiful Balsam Spruce wreath and garland.
There are more gorgeous Christmas decorating ideas in store, so stay tuned for part two of this series. Give the gift of inspiration by sharing this with those who are looking to create the unique!
