The idea for this Halloween ornament came to me because of a common mom dilemma—my kids kept leaving the lids off of their Play-Doh, which meant lot’s of empty containers to throw out. Then I thought: “Hey, those would make adorable little Halloween ornament dioramas”! So I dug them all out of the trash and busted out the glitter! So easy, fun and customizable!

Supplies
- Small Halloween toys
- Empty Play-Doh containers
- Glitter
- Craft glue or decoupage medium
- Hot glue and hot glue gun
- Decorative trim

Apply glue or decoupage medium to the inside of a small (and shallow) Play-Doh container. While the glue is still wet, sprinkle glitter. Shake off the excess.

Allow the glue or decoupage medium to dry completely.

Using hot glue, adorn the outside of the Play-Doh container. Decorative trim, small toys, pompoms, ribbon, and more can be added to the outside. Inside the diorama, use small toys, erasers, or even googly eyes.

These wee little dioramas are a great project to make with the kids; it was their Play-Doh after all. It is also a great ornament for a smaller tree, like the Tuxedo Black Table Top Tree. I hope you have been inspired this week to make a few of your own DIY Halloween ornaments. Don’t forget to check out Black Cats, Doll Part Stew, Stenciled Monsters, and Slithering Snakes!
