Mardi Gras season is upon us and not everyone can make it down to the Big Easy. Don’t worry! You can bring the party to your house anywhere in the world with your own Mardi Gras tree. Grab your Yellow Treetopia Tree and hit the party stores for some purple, gold, and green decorations. Let’s do this!
The main thing is to get the color right. Traditionally, the colors are gold, purple, and green but I threw some rainbow action and disco balls into my tree to spice things up. Purple symbolizes justice, gold is for wealth, and green is faith. As long as you have those colors involved, you can’t go wrong!
I of course, also decided to make some DIY Mardi Gras Ornaments for my tree. When you think of Mardi Gras, you probably think of cheap plastic beaded necklaces. I used those necklaces to cover some plain Treetopia Christmas Ornaments.
This is not my first time at the Mardi Gras Tree rodeo. In 2015, I decorated this White Tabletop Treetopia Tree. Check out my post: The Next Best Thing to New Orleans – How to Decorate a Mardi Gras Tree. This tree also has a DIY Glittered Mardi Gras Mask Treetopper and DIY King Cake Ornaments from Clay.
You can’t decorate your Mardi Gras tree wrong—the whole point (just like the event itself) is to have fun. Throw in some pompoms and tiny hats, add a crown and some light up disco balls. You do you, and let your Mardi Gras tree reflect that!by
