“Wanting to create a spooky and sophisticated Halloween Bar Cart this year, I decided to decorate my black wreath as if it were a funeral wreath. I adorned the front with a banner and added in some blood red peonies to enhance the “creepy factor”. Adding the phrase “Drink Up Witches” adds a little humor to the vignette and invites my guests to come over and pick their poison.”
The mantel in most homes is a focal point. In my house, you can see the fireplace from the front door. I like to make sure my mantel is done up right for the holidays, including Halloween, and this is where my Tuxedo Black Wreath and Garland come in.
If you thought my Candy Corn Tree was good, take a peek at my Treetopia Tuxedo Black Christmas Tree decorated for Halloween. I used a combination of new and vintage, store bought and handmade, plus kitsch and serious Halloween. Is there such a thing as serious Halloween?
The last stop on the Treetopia Mystery Bloghop and Giveaway is Whipperberry, and boy are we going out with a bang. You still have until next week to enter and win your own set of Tuxedo Black Tabletop Trees and matching Tuxedo Black Wreath and Garland. In the meantime, feast your eyes on Heather’s Whisper White Cashmere Tree. I adore the black and white theme—and let’s talk about that pumpkin jack-a-lope.
This tree is a perfect example of less is more. Just a few items in the same color theme (dice, masks, striped pumpkins) pop off this tree beautifully. I can’t wait to see how she decorates the tree for Christmas. Stop by Whipperberry and see more of this gorgeous tree, and if you missed the rest of the bloghop, stop by and say hello to Cathie Filian, Heidi Kenny, Vanessa Brady, and my own blog www.jenniferperkins.com. If you didn’t want a Halloween tree before, you will now.
Today on the Treetopia Halloween Mystery Bloghop and Giveaway we are headed to El Paso, TX for a sneak peak into the traditions of Vanessa Brady of Tried and True. Vanessa gave her Treetopia Stiletto Black Christmas Tree an amazing Day of the Dead makeover. Dia de los Muertos is more than colorful skull decorations and face paint, it is a beautiful tradition honoring loved ones who have passed on. Vanessa made the gorgeous frames for her photos, whipped out some amazingly cute tassel ornaments, and even handmade tissue paper flowers for the tree. She topped it off with pompom trim, because everything is better with pompoms.
Want to win your own black trees, black wreath AND black garland? Sure you do. Stop by the Treetopia Facebook Page and enter to win. Also, remember this is a bloghop. Don’t forget to check out Cathie Filian’s amazing take on Dia de los Muertos with her orange tree, Heidi Kenny of My Paper Crane had a painted-pumpkin-palooza for her Pitch-Black Pine Tree and over on my blog I shared my Candy Corn Tree. Tomorrow is the last stop (but not the last day to enter the contest) when we visit Heather Thoming of Whipperberry.
I first fell in love with Treetopia because of their Candy Corn Tree. Sure, I’m their brand ambassador and you would think I have to say nice stuff about them, but really I adore this tree—maybe even too much. Last year, I used the tree in my Halloween Party Photo Booth, and the tree makes an appearance on the DIY Network post 9 Ways to Decorate a Halloween Tree. Also, if you are looking for Halloween Games and Activities for a Kid’s Halloween Party, the tree makes a great centerpiece for a round of musical chairs. So many options. Who knew a Candy Corn Tree was so versatile?
The Treetopia Mystery Bloghop and Giveaway is in full swing and so far all the trees (Cathie Filian and Heidi Kenny) have been amazing, and there are two more stops to go (Tried and True and Whipperberry)! Be sure to stop by my blog www.jenniferperkins.com for all the details on how I decorated my candy corn cutie!
When one of my Halloween decorating idols Heidi Kenny of My Paper Crane came on board to the Treetopia Bloghop, I had a fan girl moment. Like myself, she loves vintage Halloween and her collection rivals my own. I just knew she would work wonders on a Pitch Black Pine Tree from Treetopia and I was right. Who is dying to go paint faces on foam gourds now? I know I’m raising my hand!
After you bask in the glory of Heidi’s Halloween tree, pop over to the Treetopia Facebook Page for a chance to win your own set of Black Tabletop Trees PLUS matching black wreath and garland. Don’t forget to check back all week for more amazing trees and chances to win!
How do you give an orange Christmas tree a Day of the Dead makeover? The ever clever Cathie Filian shows you how today on her blog. Cathie is kicking off a week-long Halloween/Day of the Dead Bloghop. We have a star-studded cast playing along and a chance for you to win some Halloween treats. First up, Cathie talks about New Traditions for the Filian Family, How to Make a DIY Faux Sugar Skull, and how to make Dia de los Muertos Ornaments from Dollar Store Plates. So many amazing DIY projects that really make her orange tree pop.
From holiday ornaments to summer clothing, savvy shoppers know that purchasing seasonal items are best done off-season. Beautiful, durable, and available any time of year, artificial Christmas trees are excellent buys no matter the time of year. Here are three great reasons you should purchase your holiday tree way before the jingle bells start ringing.
Enjoy More Decorating Possibilities
I tend to see the world through holiday colored glasses when I am antique shopping. Whether I am at a thrift store, flea market or garage sale somewhere in the back of mind I am looking at everything thinking: “How could that be holiday decor”. I get serious tunnel vision around Halloween and Christmas, but year round I am on the prowl. Here are a few suggestions for things you could find at this weekend’s estate sale and use come December.
