A Mardi Gras Tree

If you can’t make it to Louisiana for Mardi Gras this year, bring New Orleans to you. Pick up a few supplies at the craft and party store for your tabletop Winter White Treetopia tree and you can almost taste the beignets.

The signature colors of Mardi Gras are purple, gold and green. Decorate your tree with any combination of these colors and you can’t go wrong. I used beads, vintage crown cake toppers, shiny balls, and even made my own clay King Cake ornaments complete with wee babies.

Have fun with your tree ornaments!

The beauty of a tabletop tree is that you can decorate it for any holiday with little to no commitment. You might already have decorations from Christmas that would work for Mardi Gras in your attic. Unlike a full-sized tree, tabletops take a lot less decorations to get your theme across.

With tabletop trees, less is more!

One day I will make it to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. In the meantime, I’ve got the Zydeco queued up, my tree deserving of a bead toss, and the makings of a hurricane waiting close at hand.
