Treetopia Design Council 2014: Michael Wurm, Jr. of Inspired by CharmPosted by in Decorating Ideas for Every Christmas Tree | The Latest from Treetopia
Discover the many wonderful ways to make your Christmas tree look as gorgeous as can be with Treetopia’s Design Council 2014. We’ve asked some of the country’s best design bloggers to decorate their favourite Treetopia Christmas tree and we hope the results will inspire you to create a fabulous holiday masterpiece of your own.
In last year’s Treetopia Design Council series, Michael Wurm, Jr. of Inspired by Charm completely floored us with his charming vintage tree and colorful ombre tree. Michael’s Christmas tree decorating ideas never fail to astonish and captivate us, so we’re absolutely thrilled to have him back for our Design Council this year.
In his recent “A Blue Christmas” post, Michael relates that he picked the Treetopia Navy Blue Christmas Tree because it complements the color palette of his dining room. Instead of decorative ribbon, he began by wrapping the tree in a garland of copper balls to create row upon row of rosy gold sparkle.
Lovers of ombre will be delighted to see that Michael employed a gradient effect similar to the one used on his vintage tree design last year. His arrangement of vintage glass ornaments starts off with dark blue Christmas balls at the bottom and progresses to light green ones at the top.
To play up the use of copper, he added a number of copper-tinged hanging ornaments in a variety of designs. Vintage lover that he is, Michael crowned his blue Christmas tree with an antique copper-hued tree topper. A white faux fur tree skirt provides beautiful contrast and completes the look of this elegant tree.
Keep following our Design Council 2014 blog series and learn more fabulous ways to decorate and display your colorful Christmas tree straight from the pros!
