Find ways to turn old furniture into something fabulous and useful again

Do you find yourself wondering how to collect more fitting furniture and get rid of old ones that don’t seem to complement the style of your home? How about hitting two birds with one stone by repurposing old but usable items into new furniture instead? Check out these simple ways to repurpose items and integrate them into your home décor:

Treasure Keepers to Table Tops

If you have an old wooden chest used to store old family photos that’s taking up space in your home, and you’re torn between keeping it or moving it into the basement, we’ve got a solution for you. There’s no need to get rid of it completely because you can transform your family treasure into your very own home décor. You can place a glass panel on top of a trunk to turn it into a table and prevent water damage from spilled drinks. Do you want to make it portable? Add wheels!

Here’s another interesting idea! If you’ve got several broken chair legs, put them all together, make sure they’re stable when standing up, and use them as a base for a new table. Transform it into something like this:

Crate and Create

Do you have some sturdy wooden boxes lying around or perhaps some wine crates you asked for or bought from your friendly local wine shop some time ago but don’t know what to do with them now? Instead of stacking them all in the storage, use them as a frame to display your trinkets or shelves for organizing your favorite items. You can even paint them to match the color of your walls.

If you want, you can repaint the boxes and install them on your walls to be used as bookshelves instead of purchasing new shelves.

Tables to Shelves

Are you itching to give your long table a makeover or replace it altogether? Don’t get rid of it just yet because you can always turn it into stylish shelving for your office wall. You can get someone to split it in half, lengthwise and install the cut boards on your wall. It’s your choice if you want to stack up the split halves in perfect alignment or add some style in arranging them just like how it was featured on Apartment Therapy.

Tub to Sofa

If you have a bathtub that’s about to be thrown away, think about giving it another life for a minute or two. You can always turn it into a comfortable sofa to complement your chic space. Check out these upcycled bathtub couches from Apartment Therapy.

Bed to Bed

Are you about to get rid of your bed? Maybe you can use the bed frame as another type of bed instead of throwing it out. If you have a spacious garden, you can utilize the bed frame as a flower bed. Just check out how lovely this flower bed from Houzz turned out to be:
