Bring out those shakers and blenders because it’s time for some delightful recipes for National Margarita Day
It’s National Margarita Day this Friday and what better way to celebrate than mixing up a glass or two (or several) of this favorite concoction. Treetopia has gathered a few recipes you and your friends can try out, so gather everyone for a margarita-tasting party!
For those who favor the basic mix or simply have a taste for old-fashioned recipes, you can serve up a glass of classic margarita. Be sure to prepare:
2 ounces tequila
¾ ounce orange liqueur
3/5 ounce fresh lime juice
Mix all the ingredients in the shaker with ice and shake away! You can use a blender, too. Pour out your delicious mixture into a nice margarita glass and serve. You can also add ¼ ounce of agave nectar or decrease the volume of Tequila according to your taste.
If you like to share something fruity and sweet, try out the watermelon margarita from myrecipes.rom. You will need the following:
3 ½ cups cubed seeded watermelon
½ cup tequila
3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon orange liqueur
2 teaspoons sugar
1 lime wedge
Prepare your margarita glasses by rubbing the rims with the lime wedge and then coating the rim with salt. Combine the first five ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Add crushed ice to the glasses and pour the blended margarita over it. Serve and enjoy.
Is chocolate more your thing? Perhaps you are a fan of these sweet delicacies or you’re simply looking for creative ways to use chocolate due to a post-Valentine’s hangover. The chocolate margarita from Buzzfeed is your answer. You will need:
1 ounce tequila
¾ ounce orange juice
1 ounce Kahlua
½ ounce half and half
¾ tablespoon chocolate syrup
Crush the cookies in a bag and pour out the crushed contents onto a plate. Use the crushed cookies to garnish the rim of your cocktail glasses. Combine all liquid ingredients in a shaker and add the chocolate syrup. Shake or blend well. Pour out your luscious concoction in a glass and enjoy.
Here’s the Skinny
If your friends are conscious about all the calories that could be in your mix, Health.com presented 9 margaritas for less than 300 calories. One of them is Bethenny Frankel’s Skinnygirl Margarita at approximately 160 calories. You will need:
2 ounces clear tequila
½ ounce lime juice
Grand Marnier or triple sec
Combine all ingredients in a shaker and pour over crushed ice or blend with ice until smooth. Enjoy.
