Things to Do to Get Your Gears TurningPosted by in The Treetopian Lifestyle
It’s the “E” word that most people include as part of their New Year’s resolutions, but it’s not always the one that goes beyond the two-week mark. Having the discipline to follow through an appropriate exercise routine can help turn your gears because it eases stress and gives you enough energy to power through your day. It also releases endorphins to enhance your mood.
Join a Marathon or Take up a Sport
Marathons or sports have become a way of life for some people. These activities can give you an outlet for your stress and frustrations. While it takes a long time to prepare for a marathon, the process will keep you busy with an active exercise or training routine. You can even cross out two items in your to-do list by joining a marathon for a good cause.
You can get your gears turning by playing games, although it can’t be just any game. Play a game that will make you think and strategize. A quick game of chess or a couple of Sudoku grids could help you get into a more logic-focused mindset. Challenge yourself.
Do Your Chores
You’re probably thinking that doing chores has nothing to do with getting back on your daily track. Contrary to protests, however, doing chores may help you ease into your daily routine faster. Throwing out the garbage would clean up your space and help you achieve better focus. Clean up or redecorate your home to make it more comfortable. Change the order of things to keep you on your toes. Whatever chore you have on your list, do it now.
Don’t Forget to Eat
We all came from a food-filled holiday and maybe we’re already trying to lose weight. So what has eating got to do with turning your gears? Simple. Breakfast is still the most important meal of the day. If you wake up super glued to your bed, eating a healthy breakfast would give you just the right jolt to power you through the day. It doesn’t have to be a really healthy morning salad, even a croissant and cup of Joe in the morning can do wonders to wake up your brain.
You don’t have to have boundless amounts of energy to be perky and prepared to work after a long holiday. All you need is the proper attitude coupled with the right activity to tap into your energy stores and turn your gears.
What other fun and simple activities do you do to get back on track after a long holiday vacation?
